Funeral services for Bill Prince, Sr., age 89, of Roanoke will be held on Monday, September 7, 2020, at 10:00 AM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Allan Daniel and Bro. Edward Herren officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor’s Crossroads Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-5:00 PM on Sunday, September 6, 2020. Mr. Prince passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Traylor’s Nursing Center. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Kirby Prince of Roanoke; one daughter, Nancy Prince Moore (Gregg) of Roanoke; one son, Bill Prince, Jr. (Carolyn) of Oxford; four grandchildren, Chad & Michele Prince of Oxford, Dr. Brad and Nikole Prince of Carrollton, Lee and Calli Moore of Roanoke, and Ashley Moore of Roanoke; six great-grandchildren, Hannah Prince, Harrison Prince, Mileah Prince, Hayden Prince, Cara Prince, and Halle Prince; adoptive grandchildren, Sarah Lynn and Chloe Moore; and one brother, Jim Prince (Janella) of Lineville. Pallbearer will be Shawn Scott, Chad Prince, Brad Prince, Lee Moore, Harrison Prince, and Hayden Prince. A Rock Stand native, Mr. Prince was born on September 25, 1930, the son of Alwyn Reid and Thelma Waid Prince. He was a member of Taylor’s Crossroads Church of Christ and served in the Armed Forces during the Korean conflict. Mr. Prince was retired from the United States Postal Service and was an amateur radio operator. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Holly and Karen Prince; and a son, Timothy Prince. The family requests that anyone attending the visitation and/or service to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
