Ruby Pearl Dixon Obituary

Ruby “Pearl” Driver Dixon, born on October 13, 1941, passed away on September 5th, 2020. Born in Wilson, North Carolina, she is preceded in death by her parents Jessie and Carl Driver, and her brother Billy Driver.

Pearl was best known for her hard work ethic and the love she shared for her family. She worked many years at Mayo Knitting Mills, and was a well-known waitress at Stacks Steakhouse in Tarboro. Pearl loved cooking and baking for other people, spending time outside by her pool and working in her yard. She was truly the ‘glue’ of her family and the very definition of an independent, self-less woman who will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her loving family including twin brother “Earl” Driver and wife Linda, of Tarboro; sister Barbara Norris, of Knightdale; brother Kenneth Driver and wife Pat, of Asheville; son Stephen Dixon and wife Tammy, of Mesa, AZ; daughter Sandra Terrell and husband Ken of Tarboro; grandchildren Chris Dixon and wife Carie, of Tucson, AZ; Becky Dixon, of Tucson, AZ; Tracey Whitley and fiancé Jessica, of Washington; Harley Lewis and husband Brad, of Macclesfield; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 9th, 2020 at 1:00 pm with a celebration of life to follow. In addition, family and friends will gather at 714 Wellington Lane in Tarboro, NC, following the service.
