Waive "Jean" I. Ullery Obituary

Waive I. “Jean” Ullery, 90, of Connersville, passed away early Saturday morning, September 5, 2020, at the home of her daughter in Clay City, Indiana where she resided for the past year. The daughter of Homer T. and Hazel Elwood Everett, Jean was born in Connersville on April 27, 1930, and graduated from Connersville High School. On February 18, 1949, Jean married the love of her life, James E. “Bud” Ullery in First United Methodist Church, Connersville. Jean and Bud were happily married for 61 years. Bud passed away on July 6, 2010. For 25 years, Jean was employed as a secretary at Stant in Connersville. Jean was a member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church where she served on the United Methodist Women's Committee. She was also a Girl Scout Leader, and a member of the Bunco and Lioness Clubs. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching Indiana University, Butler University, and Indiana Pacers basketball, playing Bunco, cards, and entertaining everyone with her singing and dancing. She was a skilled chef and baker and was well known for her pies and noodles. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Smith of Clay City, Indiana and Brenda Ullery, of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Mandy Loftus of Terre Haute, Meghan Shidler (Treg) of Clay City, Adam Reichle (fiance Shelby Jo Eaton) of Indianapolis, and Lindsey Reichle (fiance Carlos Miller) of St. Louis, Missouri; and five great grandchildren, Cami, Andrew and Owen Loftus of Terre Haute and Olivia and Maizy Shidler of Clay City. Besides her husband of 61 years, Jean was preceded in death by her son Phillip Ullery who passed away January 14, 2015 and her parents. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Pastor Gwen Pew will officiate.
