Al Messina Jr. age 93 of Berea, passed away Sept. 5, 2020 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY. Al was a Veteran of the US Navy serving in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was also a retired Tool engineer for Goodyear and Rockwell Industries. Al was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Alridge J. and Thelma Baehr Messina Sr., and he was preceded in death by his son Fred Messina and his late wife Jackie Messina.

Al is survived by his children: Cindy Ricketts, Lloyd Messina, Derick (Dora) Messina, and Joe (Renee) Messina, his sister, Betty Eaves, and his grandchildren: Chris (Taylor) Messina, Brandon (Courtney) Messina, Matt (Becky) Messina, Nick (Chloe) Messina, Corey Fredrick, and Kyle Messina, and his great-grandchildren: Skyler, Kendrick, Asher, Branson, Josslyn, Kason, Landon, Noah and Corbin.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday Sept. 9, 2020 at 12 pm Lakes Funeral Home with Matt Messina officiating, pallbearers will be his grandsons, burial with Military Honors will take place at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday Sept. 8, 2020 from 6-9 pm at Lakes Funeral Home. Masks and social distancing will be observed during visitation and services.
