George Edward Knapp, Sr. - a native of Saraland, AL and a resident of Chunchula, AL, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020 in a local hospital. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Carmen P. Knapp. George is also survived by his son, George Edward Knapp, Jr. (Sheila); daughter, Melissa Knapp Bhatti. Loving grandchildren are Chandler Knapp, Kiran and Azaan Bhatti. He is leaving a devoted mother-in-law, Jacqueline Pully and sister-in-law, Matilda Knapp; his special friend and companion, Honey Bun Knapp. George was the owner and operator of George E. Knapp Construction Company for 43 years. He always said, "you can't get through this world without Friends." The family would like to thank George's many friends who helped him get through this life. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday from the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Dino Danzey officiating. Pallbearers will be David Hooks, Reginald Brown, Don Crocker, Brian Pully, Bradley Malone, and Dennis Malone. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery, Citronelle, AL.
