Johnnie Belton Richardson Jr., age 85, of Asheboro died Saturday, September 5, 2020 at his home. Johnnie was born in Asheboro and was a 1953 graduate of Asheboro High School where he enjoyed playing football for the Blue Comets. He served 9 years in the Army National Guard. He was formerly employed with Acme McCrary, where he enjoyed playing on the bowling league and was retired from the City of Asheboro after 22 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Richardson, Sr. and his aunt, Frances Thomas Moore, who helped raise Johnnie. He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Carmelita McCarn Richardson; son: Eric Richardson of the home; cousin: Ann Stevens of Ulah. No services are planned at this time.
