Andrew Joseph Carrano

<p>Andrew Joseph Carrano, 93, of Orange, beloved husband of Linda (Geonzon) Carrano, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2020. Born on February 18, 1927 in New Haven, CT, he was the son of the late Anthony and Colleta (Pinto) Carrano.</p> <p>Andrew graduated Hillhouse High School with the class of 1945 and went on to enlist and serve in the US Army during World War II with the 752 Tank Battalion of the 88th Division in Italy. Upon his return to the United States, he enrolled in Quinnipiac University and graduated in 1953 with an Accounting degree. He then went on to complete his graduate studies at Central Connecticut University. Andrew taught at West Haven High School for 32 years, as was their financial advisor for students&rsquo; activities for 18 years. He loved to travel to Europe and Asia, and spent summers in the Amalfi Coast Islands where his parents were born. Andrew was an avid sports fan of Quinnipiac University Hockey, Yale University Football, and the Boston Red Sox.</p> <p>In addition to his loving wife, Linda, Andrew is survived by his children, Dr. Andrea C. (Dr. Michael Saganich) Carrano of San Diego, CA, and Drew G. Carrano of Orange, CT; the love of his life, his granddaughter, Lily Abigail Saganich; his sister, Terese Depino; and his nephews, Joseph, Jr. and Richard Esposito, Rocco Salperto, Jr., and Anthony, Robert, and David Carrano. He was predeceased by his nine siblings.</p> <p>All services will be private at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made &nbsp;to The Office of Radio and Television for the Archdiocese of Hartford, 15 Peach Orchard Rd., Prospect, CT 06712.&nbsp;</p>
