Christine was born February 8, 1946 in Fairfield, CT, daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Commette) Laing and had been a lifetime area resident. She was a retired legal assistant, and was an exceptional artist, especially with watercolors. She was a member and former treasurer and correspondence secretary of the Shelton Art League. She was an avid New England Patriots fan, loved to cook, enjoyed skiing, and going on long motorcycle rides with her beloved husband. Christine liked spending time outdoors, frequently camping, visiting parks, museums, or just a picnic. An avid reader, she was never without a book and often had several going at the same time. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She took an active part in her children's activities and organizations and supported their every endeavor. She stayed an active member of the Boy Scouts Troop 101 long after her sons were Eagle Scouts. Christine was also a licensed pyrotechnician who was part of many area 4th of July firework displays. Survivors in addition to her husband include her three children, Melissa Zaccagnini and her husband Jason, Brian Barmmer and his wife Ayla, and Matthew Barmmer and his wife Lauren; five grandchildren, Billy, Jake, James, Lincoln and Colette and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Robert, Barrie, Roberta and Evelyn. Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Monday, September 7, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. in the William R.
