<p>Linda Corene (Jacob) Downs, 72, passed away on September 2, 2020 at home. She was born on July 24th, 1948 to Calvin and Corabell (Hayes) Jacob in Talihina, OK.</p> <p>Linda was married to Larry Downs on December 5th, 1969. They met at Oklahoma State University (Okmulgee Tech) in Okmulgee, OK where she continued her education after graduating from Preston High School. Linda retired from the Muscogee (Creek) Nation where she was the boss of the housing department and had lunch with friends for many years. It&rsquo;s possible lunch was at the casino a few times.</p> <p>Linda was a cook that would rather improvise recipes that follow them, but fried chicken and banana bread will never be the same without the main ingredient. She loved a good estate sale, especially if wooden baskets or hand tools were available and if given the choice, would have spent every day fishing.</p> <p>Linda was especially close to her siblings, highly valuing the times they could be together, which were rare but fulfilling. She always looked forward to annual sister trips and casino trips.</p> <p>She was strong without effort. She was a good person. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.</p> <p>Linda is survived by her husband, Larry Downs of Sand Springs, OK; children, Dusty Downs and wife Janiece, and Chief Downs of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Blake Wilson and wife Lara, Braden Downs and wife Kirsten, Benjamin Downs, and Grant Downs; great grandchildren, Rylan Lamb and Adalia Wilson, and Asenath and Phoebe Downs; Sisters, Janell Cochran and husband James, and Elenor Lamb and husband Butch; brothers, Austin Jacob and wife Jane, and Nelson Jacob and wife Ann.</p> <p>A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Friday, September 11th, 2020 at Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa, OK.</p> <p>Honorary Pallbearers are Austin Jacob, Nelson Jacob, Blake Wilson, Braden Downs, Benjamin Downs, and Grant Downs.</p>
