Steven Kent Duncan Lapeer, Michigan Obituary

Steven Kent Duncan

Steven Kent Duncan, 68, of Ortonville, went home to God, and to forever be reunited with the love of his life in Heaven, on September 3, 2020. His final days were spent with his 2 boys that he loved so dearly. Steve was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 10th, 1952, the youngest of four brothers to James and Riethal Duncan. He is survived by his sons Steven Kent Duncan Jr., and wife Deborah of Davison, Ryan James Duncan, and wife Amy, of Davison; grandchildren Riley, Jackson, Daisy, Ethan, Savanna, Dylan; and brothers Jim, Phil, and Gary. He is now reunited with his parents and dear wife Brenda in everlasting life! A graduate of Madison High school in 1970, he soon married his soulmate, and spent his early years of adulthood working as a cook at the Coach Stop. An expert in the kitchen he also worked a long stretch as the main prep cook for multiple Rams Horn Restaurants. He then moved his family to Ortonville, where he spent time as the deli department manager at IGA, and then as a supervisor for Neat Painters. Later, mostly for fun, he worked part time as a test car driver for Rousch. He was a man of few words, but many hugs. A lover of great movies, greater coffee, and the greatest Dad jokes. He enjoyed camping with his family, Tigers baseball, and his cat Weezer. He was also a very big fan of food, especially his sweets. With his wife, he enjoyed buying, selling, and restoring of all types of antiques. But, above all, he loved his family. A love for his boys unlike no other. A deep-rooted affection for his parents, brothers, nieces and nephews, and an adoration for his grandkids that will burn in their young hearts until they see him again. Finally, a classic love affair for the ages with his one and only, Brenda. FAMILY was the center of his existence, and his true legacy and the unconditional love for his family is what he will be remembered for. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church of Lapeer, at 1212 Knollwood Dr, Lapeer, MI 48446 on Monday, September 7th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at First Baptist Church of Lapeer on Tuesday, September 8th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer.
