Julie Bott

Julie Ilene (Smith) Bott, age 71, passed away peacefully in her home after battling cancer on August 31, 2020, in Parowan, Utah. She was born on October 23, 1948 in Riverside, California, to Daniel Nelson Smith Jr. and Florence Joyce (Johnson) Smith. Julie was raised in California, Texas, and Utah. Her family traveled to follow her fathers work. Julie graduated from Fontana High School in Fontana, California. She married young and had 3 children, Troy Cook, Teresa Bott, and Traci (Bott) Brown. In 1976 she met and married the love of her life, Russell Dean Bott, they wrote lettersto each other for two years before they met in person on February 14thand were married on February 28th. Two weeks after they wed, she and her 3 young children followed her love to Alaska. She lived happily in Alaska for 41 years where she faithfully held many church callings, as well, she worked as a school bus driver and a school nutritionist. Julie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Daniel N. Smith III. She is survived by her husband, children and son in law, grandchildren, a brother, and sisters. She will be missed by many other relatives, friends, and friends who became family. A grave side service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at the Parowan Cemetery.
