Marian Elizabeth Daley Barnhill

Marian Elizabeth Daley Barnhill, 89, of Lum (a lifetime Lapeer County resident), died Thursday, September 3, 2020. Marian was born April 25, 1931 in Lapeer to Leslie and Gladys (Millikin) Moses. She graduated from Lapeer High School, class of 1949. Upon graduation, Marian worked a few years for Lapeer Community Schools. On April 26, 1952 Marian married J. Clifford “Kip” Daley at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lapeer. For the next forty-eight years Marian (& Kip) raised and loved their nine children and worked the family farm. Marian eventually went back to work for Lapeer Schools and retired with 20 years of service to the district. After her beloved Kip passed, Marian married Wendell Barnhill of Nova Scotia. She was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church her entire life. In her free time, Marian loved to golf, was an excellent seamstress and a gifted cake decorator. Above all Marian cherished moments spent with her family at Daley Acres. Marian is survived by her children: Diane (Robert) Daley Ullrich of Oxford, Robert (Phyllis) Daley of Loganville, GA, Daniel (Tami) Daley of Milledgeville, GA, Kevin (Deborah) Daley of Lum, Karen (Robert) Rowden of Lapeer, Pamela (William) Daley Sherod of Sierra Vista, AZ, Patricia (Josh) Davis of White Lake, John Daley of Lum and Martin (Keely) Daley of Cornelius, NC; twenty-two grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and three step-children: Valerie (Earl) Boudreau, Randy (Sonya) Barnhill and Eric (Kathy) Barnhill all of Nova Scotia. Marian is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Marian is preceded in death by her husband, J. Clifford “Kip” Daley; her beloved grandson, Thomas Daley; her 2nd husband, Wendell Barnhill; siblings: Lois Douglas, Ferris Moses, Linnie Seaman, Donah Chrysler, Doris Nichols and Evelyn Carson and her aforementioned parents. Visitation will be held from 1-7PM Monday, September 7, 2020 at Daley Acres, 3387 Daley Road, Lum, Michigan 48412. The Rosary will be prayed at 7PM on Monday evening at the farm. A private outdoor funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in North Branch, Father Sama Muma, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Loretto Catholic Cemetery, Lapeer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Daley Acres Agricultural Scholarship, 3387 Daley Road, Lum, Michigan 48412. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.
