He was born George Stuart Myers on May 25, 1951 in Hillsboro, Oregon to Nancy Jane Bowe and George Mathison Myers but later changed his name to Stuart George Jackson after his mother was remarried to Donald Roger Jackson.</p> <p>Stuart grew up in California and graduated from Edgewood High School. He was part of the cross-country running team, drama, choir and enjoyed bike riding. He studied at Provo Trade Tech to become an electrical technician. He loved electronics, rock hounding, science, history and was an avid reader of history, science fiction and UFO&rsquo;s. He was also a big fan of the Beatles and British comedy.</p> <p>While working at the south rim of the Grand Canyon, he met the missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was later baptized. He met Debora Candland while they both worked at the Utah State Development Center and were married on October 17, 1973. They had two children; son Jeremy S Jackson and daughter Carisa D Jackson. They were later sealed in the Jordan River temple.</p> <p>He loved the Church. He had a big kind heart and never met a stray animal he wouldn&#39;t try to take care of. He had a way of seeing the good in people that maybe others couldn&#39;t see. He lived life to the beat of a different drummer and had a way of connecting with those who did the same.</p> <p>He leaves behind his son Jeremy, daughter Carisa, favorite and only grandson Joseph and his ex-wife Debora. He was loved by so many. His brother-in-law Eddie Candland and wife Kirsten and their three children; Jasmine, Alyson and James. His sister-in-law Laura C Jones and Adam Jones and their three children; Angelika, Jacob and Nicholas. He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy Bowe Jackson and his father Donald Roger Jackson.</p> <p>Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove. A viewing will be held from 9:30 -10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.</p>
