Bonnie D. Lawrence Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Bonnie D. (Anderson) Lawrence of Vancouver, Wash. (previously Tacoma, Wash.), announces her passing on August 16, 2020. She was 86 years old. Bonnie was born in Tacoma in 1934. She attended Browns Point Elementary, Jason Lee Junior High and Stadium High School. After graduating from high school in 1952, Bonnie married and moved away. Having returned to Tacoma in 1969, Bonnie worked various jobs to provide for her six children. Most of her career was spent in the dry cleaning business. Bonnie had also been a beloved volunteer at Group Health for over 14 years. Bonnie was a skilled pool shooter, and an avid bowler. Bonnie loved her little dogs dearly. She enjoyed visiting friends, going to bingo and to the casino. Bonnie was always a good sport when it came to going along with ideas and shenanigans dreamt up by her kids, which resulted in some amazing memories. She had an incredible heart and, for stars to shine as bright, there must be darkness. Having maneuvered many hardships and obstacles, she was both a strong and humble person. Through that she unknowingly taught others of their own strengths. Bonnie loved all of her family, and her friends were her family. She was somehow always able to find that extra love to give to her bonus kids who needed love. Her wonderful sense of humor, heart of gold, and everything that made her so special will be lovingly remembered and missed. She was preceded in death by her son, David Lawrence; granddaughter, Cheryl Pittman; parents, Gustaf Anderson and Helen (Jones) Anderson; brothers, Orval Holthusen, Herbert Taylor, Glenn Anderson, Donald Anderson, Bjorn “Jimmy” Anderson; sisters, Sonja Moe, Marda Morgan and Billie Manos. The whereabouts of two brothers, Kenneth Taylor and Duane Taylor, are unknown. Bonnie is survived by her son, William Lawrence; her daughters, Debra Vesty, Betty Talbot, Beverly Smith, Patti March, and all of her children's spouses and families; as well as numerous other extended family members. Bonnie had 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Plans for a Celebration of Life ceremony are currently on hold and will be determined at a later date. Please leave condolences or share memories and photos on the Tribute Wall to the left.
