Opal Faye Shoumake Obituary

Opal Faye Shoumake of Berryville, Arkansas, was born October 17, 1933 in Beaver County, Oklahoma, to Otto and Mable (Clovis) Lindt. Opal went home to be with Jesus on August 25, 2020 in Springdale at the age of 86. As a hard-working mom, she took on many different jobs to help support her family throughout the years. She was an excellent seamstress, bookkeeper, housekeeper, cast member and wardrobe assistant at The Great Passion Play. While doing many of these things she also raised cattle and horses, led Sunday School classes and Girl Scouts, volunteered with the hospital auxiliary, grew amazing vegetable gardens, and taught line dancing. She also enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandkids and going to watch their many sports and activities. And in later years she became quite attached to her grand dogs. Opal is survived by her daughter Krista Schimelpfenig; grandchildren Jennifer Mosier and husband Ray, Jeremy Randolph and wife Jennifer; three sisters Marguerite Hamby, Ida Payne, Joretta Schwinn; six great grandchildren Eden Randolph, Alexandria Cisco, Owen Cisco, Dalton Randolph, McKensey Randolph, Braxton Randolph; great nephew Brian Thimesch, whom she loved like a son; grand dogs Bobby P and Babs; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. On September 7, 1954 Opal was united in marriage to Donald Shoumake who preceded her; she was also preceded by her parents, one daughter Kay Randolph; six siblings Helen Lamb, Minnie Cooksey, Betty Trickel Hawkins, Charles Lindt, John Lindt and Richard Lindt. A Graveside Funeral Service was held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the Berryville Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Billy McCall officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205 (you may also donate at alz.org) or to the Grandview Baptist Church, 1001 Hwy 143, Berryville, AR 72616.
