Obituary

It’s with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and goofy uncle.

Gerald “Jerry” Patrick Olsen AKA Jerret Praket, was born to Robert and Elizabeth Olsen on August 21st,

1964 and passed September 1, 2020.

Jerry always had a smile on his face, a joke to tell, or an ear to lend his words of wisdom along with a

colorful handkerchief to catch the tears. His laugh was infectious, and you couldn’t help but laugh with

him. Anyone who knew Jerry could count on him to give the shirt off his back.

Jerry, often found wearing one of his many Hawaiian shirts, had a love for music, particularly the

Beatles. Being a true fan of the Indianapolis Colts, he never missed Sunday football. He had a passion for

art and spent much of his free time drawing and painting. He loved to watch movies always with a bowl

of popcorn in hand.

On October 28, 1984 Jerry married the love of his life, Julie Pruttis. Their love continued to grow as they

raised their four daughters. He never failed to brag about “his chicks”, always making sure to attend

their school events. He saved all their projects and papers and brought them a rose on every birthday.

He continued to cheer and support them every day.

Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Olsen; brother-in-law, Mike LaSorte; and niece, Sarah

Kelleher. He is survived by “his chicks”; wife, Julie, daughters, Hanna (Justin), Haley, Raven and Rhian; and

Granddaughter, Athena; his father, Robert (Shirley); siblings, Cathy (Dave), Linda (Andy), Barb, Bob

(Lois), Nancy (Lyn), Steve (Shari), David (Juanita), Chris, Patti, Jeanne (Jeff), Nicki (Myles); brothers-in-law,

Joe (Brenda), Jeff (Bobbi), and Darren; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Jerry’s faith never wavered, and his family takes great comfort in knowing that he is in the arms of God.

“Bye Jerry, we’ll dance again under the harvest moon.”

As per Jerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
