It is with broken hearts that the family of the late George Francis Butt announces his passing. George passed away at the A.M. Guy Health Centre, Buchans, NL on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020 at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by his wife - Ramona Butt (2005); grandson - Chad Andrews; parents - Francis & Emma Jane Butt; parents-in-law - Dorman & Neta Compton and Harry & Lydia Andrews; step-son - Ricky Andrews; son-in-law- Paul Gray and granddaughter - Alwyn Tilley. Left to cherish many wonderful memories is his wife of 14 years - Bertha Butt, La Scie, NL; children - Sheila Tallman (Robert), Woodstock, ON, Jessie Andrews (Max), Port Hardy, BC, Larry Butt (Rhoda), Gordon Butt (Lisa) and Melinda Budgell (Tony) all of La Scie, NL; grandchildren - Shelly Johnson (Tim), Kerry McGrath (Clayton), Tonya Walsh (Kerry), Cassandra Butt, Kent Budgell, Dwayne Snooks, Brandon Wimbleton (Terri-Lynn), Mariah Butt (Mike), Ashley Ward (Jarvis), Alicia Gray and Taylor Budgell; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister - Ella Moore; Bertha’s family - Valerie Whalen (Larry), Willie Tilley (Jackie), Robert Tilley (Wanda), Loretta Gray (Dave) and Roy Tilley (Angie); step-grandchildren - Sonia Miller (Matt), Mark Whalen (Jolene), Matthew Andrews, Anna Brewer (Brian), Jasmine Tilley, Jake Tilley, Brittany Rolfe (Justin) and Brextin Tilley; daughter-in-law - Shirley Andrews as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A heart full of thanks is extended to Dr. Lotter, the nurses and staff of the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre and the A.M. Guy Health Memorial Hospital in Buchans as well as George’s home care worker - Ivy Rice. Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, the Public Health Advisory and associated restrictions, we regret to announce that there will be no Public Visitation. Captain Kay Barnes conducted a Private Family Service at The Salvation Army Citadel, La Scie, NL. Interment followed at The Salvation Army Cemetery, La Scie, NL. We encourage extended family and friends to share condolences, memories and/or photos to George’s memorial wall, available on our website. All items will be documented and displayed in our personalized guestbook and presented to the Butt family.
