Annie passed away peacefully in Strathmore on August 28, 2020 at the age of 77. Annie was born in Manning, Alberta on August 1, 1943, the second child of Michael and Hedwig Chop. She grew up living on a farm in Dixonville, Alberta. She loved reading and school and wanted to be a teacher since she was in grade 3. In 1963 she received her teaching certificate from the U of A, with her first teaching position being at the Manning Public School. Annie married John Yuhar in 1963. They raised five children while living on farms in Hawk Hills and then Hotchkiss. After 45 years on the farm, enjoying time with their growing children and then grandchildren, Annie and John moved to Strathmore, Alberta. Annie always loved gardening, taking photos, doing creative photo projects, sewing, sudoko, cooking and baking. She will be remembered for her kind and giving spirit, beautiful smile, loving hugs, positive outlook on life, unwavering faith in God and overflowing love for her family. She was predeceased by her father Michael, son David, mother Hedwig, brother Stanley and sister Chris. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John, and her children: Mary (Randy), Michael (Kelli), Victor (Sheila), Teresa (Richard), sister Irene, as well as 10 grandchildren: Bradley, Patrick, Benjamin, Mitch, Cole, Dylan, Cutler, Joseph, Lily and Zoe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, www.cancer.ca.
