Southwest Harbor Sandra N. Gott, 76, died August 31, 2020 at an MDI healthcare facility after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born November 2, 1943 in Bar Harbor the daughter of Herschel A. and Hazel O. (Paritt) Norwood. Sandra graduated from Pemetic High School in 1962 and later from Husson College with an Associate Degree in 1964. She was married for 54 years to Stanley E. Gott. Sandra worked at the Southwest Harbor Medical Center, School Union 98 and Douglas A. Gott and Sons Construction. She was a well rounded person interested in a variety of things such as collecting buttons of which she was a member for 35 years in the National Button Society She also enjoyed collecting baskets, arrowheads, antique dolls and stuffed animals. Sandra loved kayaking, fishing, hiking, camping and photography. She especially enjoyed photographing wildlife while kayaking. She is survived by her beloved husband, Stan; a brother Richard Norwood and wife Laurel of Bentonville, AK; sisters-in-law, BJ Pettegrow and husband Wyman of Southwest Harbor and Hazel Lunt and husband Carroll and Barbara Gott all of Bass Harbor; many wonderful nieces and nephews and a special niece Robin Benson and husband Tom of Southwest Harbor. She was predeceased by her parents; nephew Carroll Lunt Jr.; brother-in-law, Ronald E. Gott; brother and sister-in-law Doug and Sylvia Gott. Private graveside services will be held at Mt. Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor. Those who desire may make contributions in Sandra’s memory to the Southwest Harbor/Tremont Ambulance Service, 26 Village Greenway, Southwest Harbor, 04679.
