Roselie Ann Engman

Mrs. Roselie Ann Engman, known as ‘Rose’ to all, passed away peacefully at Extendicare Michener Hill, Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, August 31, 2020 at the age of 55 years. She was born on December 15, 1964 in Innisfail, Alberta. Rose was one of three children born to Charles and Janice Moore, a twin to Valerie and older sister to Bradley. Rose grew up on the family farm twenty-one miles east of Innisfail, where the motto was work hard and play hard; hence her love of ladies fastball and eventually mixed slow-pitch ensued. Rose met the love of her life while in High School and after graduating, married Andy Engman on July 2, 1983. Together they raised four children, Lacey, Clenton, Mason and Trevor. They lived in Innisfail for the most part; along with a brief stay in Red Deer, and then moved out near the Moore Family farm. They resided on the Moore farm for years, until they lost mostly everything in a tragic fire; which had them move to Bowden for their remaining years. In 1990, Roselie graduated top of her class at Reeves Business College; and she became a much sought after Legal Secretary, working for Jim Ming at Johnston, Ming, Manning LLP for many years; as well as other reputable lawyers in Red Deer. Outside of this, Roselie and her husband were the Concession Operators for the Crossroads Ag Society for over thirty years in the Pine Lake Area and played the role of Sports Coordinator; volunteering numerous hours organizing Mixed Slow-pitch Tournaments throughout the years. In the fall of 2016 Rose was hired by the Salvation Army Pine Lake Camp along with her sister Val as both housekeepers and prep cooks where Rose worked until her health would not allow. Rose and Andy catered with Rose's twin sister Val, known as Tastebud's Catering, taking them to Halls all over Central Alberta. Rose was happiest when she could spend time with family and friends, going camping, reading a good book and keeping busy. She loved playing crib, crokinole, bean bags and so many other games; which came along throughout the years. Roselie will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lacey Engman of Penhold, her son, Clenton Engman of Innisfail and his son, Dixon, her son, Mason Engman of Bowden and her son, Trevor Engman of Penhold. She will also be sadly missed by her twin sister, Valerie Domoney of Red Deer County, her parents, Charles and Janice Moore of Red Deer County; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Roselie was predeceased by a brother, Bradley Moore in 1980, her grandfather, Jack Harder, her grandmother, Effie Ayers, her grandparents, Cecil and Lydia Moore, a sister-in-law, Bonnie Engman, her in-laws, Lorraine and Harold Engman and most of all, her husband of thirty-seven years, Andy Engman on May 2, 2020. A Memorial Service will be held at the Crossroads Ag Park Pavilion, Pine Lake, Alberta on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life for Andy and Roselie will be held at Shane Engman’s acreage east of Bowden on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., BYOC and BYOB.
