Arik Michael Romo Obituary

Beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend Arik Michael Romo, age 22, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on May 18th, 2012. He was born February 12, 1990 in San Antonio, Texas. Arik's infectious smile, positive outlook and will to live touched everyone he knew and brought a smile to those who needed it. Those who knew Arik "his brothers" called him Rubberbones and his family called him "Duda manna" while his young sister always called him her best friend, baby boy and wonder twin even though they were 2 yrs apart (only in age). He is loved and will be missed terribly by his parents Michael A & Mary E Romo, his loving sister Alekzandra M., and his grandparents Miguel & Sylvia Romo and David & Mary Mendoza, his uncle's and aunt's David Mendoza, Henry Mendoza and Debbie & Billy White, Valerie & Manuel De La Rosa. Cousins Megan, Chris and Ben White and Bryttnee, Jakyb and Dommnyk De La Rosa. Great aunts & uncles, George, Cynthia and Sandi Sandoval, Yvonne Angulo, Manita, Eloisa, Mona, Vicki, Irene, Alice, Dolores, Lupe, Pete, Paul and Pancho. Two other very special people in his life were Veronica De La Garza and Erin Kellum Casarez, best friends (brothers) Phillip & Matthew Taglieria, Godparents Nicholas & Mary Alice Cuellar and his girlfriend Samantha Zaragoza. So many numerous other cousins and great friends. Arik was proud to help build and work with his father as the Sous Chef to the family business MARS' Mobile Kitchen and it will be very difficult to get back in the trailer without him but we know Arik would want that to continue on in his honor. He will be missed by the food truck family that he was a part of especially Crepe Nation, Kitchen Fusionz, Fat Bellies and The Point Park and Eats. There are so many others in our small food truck community that we want to thank for their thoughts and prayers and helping a fellow food truck family during this difficult time. Arik was an avid gamer with anyone who he could find online but especially with his dad, music enthusiast, jokester, prankster, soccer fanatic (especially for Barca and America), sweet and loving kid who would do anything for you. Always searching for knowledge and looking for enlightenment. He considered himself an avid beer pong player but if you played with him you knew the truth. Arik has so many best friends they are like brothers are are few: Devin, Ty, Addison, Nando, Nacho, Josh, Big Matt, Barnes, DQ, Emu, Sage. Please forgive us if we forgot your name it's not that Arik didn't love you it's that there are so many we just can't list. Please keep our son Arik in you thoughts and prayers and know that all of us have a special angel looking down, limping around joking making sure that we are all ok. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough. ROSARY THURSDAY MAY 24, 2012 7:00 P.M.
