<p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em>Gertrud E. Shults, 83 of Landrum, passed away on August 30, 2020. Gertrud was born in East Berlin, Germany on May 27, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Willi Ernst Urbschat and Marie Herzog Urbschat. She was a retired Home Health Care Nurse.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> Survivors include her daughters Vivian Garrett (Bennett) of Charlotte, NC, Tricia Taber (David) of Landrum, SC, and her son, Ralph Shults of Campobello, two grandchildren, Drake Taber of Landrum, and Justin Shults of Campobello, a sister, Irmi Johnson of Seale, Alabama and several nieces and nephews.&nbsp; She was predeceased by her oldest sister Ursula &quot;Ulla&quot; McCarter and her grandson, Jason Cole Shehan.<br /> Per Gertrud&#39;s request there will be no service.</em></span></span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em>The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at White Oak of Tryon for their compassionate care.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Foothills Humane Society.</em></span></span></strong></p>

Obituary

Gertrud E. Shults, 83 of Landrum, passed away on August 30, 2020. Gertrud was born in East Berlin, Germany on May 27, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Willi Ernst Urbschat and Marie Herzog Urbschat. She was a retired Home Health Care Nurse.
 
Survivors include her daughters Vivian Garrett (Bennett) of Charlotte, NC, Tricia Taber (David) of Landrum, SC, and her son, Ralph Shults of Campobello, two grandchildren, Drake Taber of Landrum, and Justin Shults of Campobello, a sister, Irmi Johnson of Seale, Alabama and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her oldest sister Ursula "Ulla" McCarter and her grandson, Jason Cole Shehan.
Per Gertrud's request there will be no service.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at White Oak of Tryon for their compassionate care.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Foothills Humane Society.
