DKC, Navy Chief Petty Officer, Crispin Gasmen Cabaya, 71, passed away on August 28, 2020, from a massive stroke at O’Conner Hospital in San Jose, California. He was born on May 21, 1949 in Lungog, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He is the son of Carolina Cabaya and the late Trinidad Cabaya. He is the eldest sibling of Lito, Dan, and Mely.
Crispin is survived by his wife Mila and his 3 children. He has 4 grandchildren. Cherise, Liana, Noah, and his eldest grandchild, JJ, with whom he preceded and has now joined in heaven.

He excelled in academics, always an honor student, and graduated from Chapman University with a major in Accounting. A Vietnam Veteran, he served the Navy for more than 21 years with an Honorable Discharge. After his retirement from the military, DKC Crispin Gasmen Cabaya worked for the United States Postal Service for more than 22 years. His commitment, loyalty, and dedication to serving his country made him a very proud man and showed what type of character he had.
He enjoyed fishing and was a former Post Commander and Adjutant for the American Legion, Northside Post 858. As well as a former dedicated Volunteer Case Manager, Board Member, and Treasurer for the VSSA, Veteran’s Supportive Services Agency, Inc.
