EILEEN O. VREDENBURG Eileen Ojas Vredenburg, 74, of Kansas City, KS passed away on Sat., Aug. 29, at her home. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 am, and Memorial Service will be at 11 am, both on Sat., Sept. 5 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS. Eileen was born on July 21, 1946 in Paia, Hawaii and grew up in Maunaloa on the island of Molokai, in a family working on the pineapple plantations. She graduated from Molokai High School in 1964 where she was the Miss Green and White, their Prom Queen. She later met Terry Vredenburg and have been together for over 45 years. Most recently she has worked as a Administrative Assistant at Nazdar in Shawnee, KS. Eileen was famous for her Banana Bread and being a great cook. She was considered the "Neighborhood Mom" that everyone knew and was a stranger to no one. She was known to love to going to the Casino's. She was an active participant in the volunteer program at Providence Medical Center by crocheting hats for newborns in the NICU, contributing to bake sales and sewing walker bags for the elderly. She also supported Project Warmth by crocheting hats and scarves for the homeless. She was preceded in death by one son Troy Michael in 1980 and is survived by her husband of 45 years Terry J. Vredenburg of the home. Four sons Edward Barcelona of Honolulu, HI; Larry Barcelona of Kansas City, KS; Patrick Ojas of Honolulu, HI and Travis Barcelona and his wife Denise of Bonner Springs, KS. Two daughters Crystal Kelly and her husband Joseph of Olathe, KS and Alana Stoy and her husband Brady of Drexel, MO. A special daughter Tatiana Figueroa of Overland Park, KS. One brother Lawrence Ojas of Kahaluu, HI and two sisters Patricia Capino of Fayetteville, NC and Janet Castillo of Las Vegas, NV. 17 grandchildren Kaycee, Destini, J.T., Rhiannon, B.J., Savannah, Hannah, Noah, Maddie, Grace, Hope, Isabel, Emma, Abby, Cody, Daniel and Sam and one great grandson Finn.
