Michael D. Eckhart, age 88, of Leoma, TN passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020 at his residence.  He was a native of Evanston, IL, a retired professor at Moraine Valley Community College, and a member of Second Street Church of Christ in Pulaski, TN.  Mr. Eckhart served as an Elder at Park Forest Church of Christ.  He also served on the Board of Directors for Wisconsin Christian Youth Camp and AGAPE.  He was an Eagle Scout and volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America.  Mr. Eckhart served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lauren Dean and Bernice Vance Eckhart.

He is survived by his wife, Macie H. Eckhart of Leoma, TN; three children, Milton D. Eckhart (Holly) of York, NE, Michelle E. Edwards (Gary) of Jonesboro, AR, and Mark S. Eckhart (Deann) of Waxhaw, NC; and seven grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, September 04, 2020 at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 05, 2020, with Wayne Hawley officiating.  Interment will follow at John Lay Cemetery in Ethridge, TN with full military honors.  Family suggests memorials be made to Wisconsin Christian Youth Camp, N3595 Fallhall Road, Black River Falls, WI  54615-6909 or wcyc.org for online donations.
