Bertha "Janet" Griffith
Bertha "Janet" Griffith of Florence joined her loved ones in the presence of the Lord on Thursday, August 27, 2020. Born in Roebling, she lived in Florence most of her life as the wife of the late Albert P. Griffith Jr. for 41years. Janet became 88 years young this year. Soon after graduating from Florence High School, she graduated from the Massachusetts School of Physio-Therapy in Boston. Once returning to Roebling, Janet worked in Physical Therapy at the Mt. Holly Hospital(BCMH) for over 30 years. Janet was a member of the Florence United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Mohawk Canoe Club, Florence Garden Club and Historical Society. Youngest Daughter of the late Paul and Mary Torok Paykos, sister to the late Paul Paykos, Irene Maher & Ella McDermott. Janet is survived by her sons Jeffrey Griffith (Caroline) of Olive Branch,MS and Todd Griffith of Florence. Son Timothy Griffith passed in 1988. Janet also has a dear cousin LoisAnn, many loving nieces, nephews and their children. Aunt Janet loved family gatherings, especially the after Holidays bash, even when she didnt have enough "crazy gifts for all the kids". Janet loved antiques & was junkin long before it was cool. Enjoyed camping, canoeing, traveling with family/friends & really loved hanging with her girls on LBI. The Family would like to express their Thanks and Love to extended family members and dear friend, JoAnn, who assisted with her care over the years. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 2nd at Dennison Funeral Home, 214 W. Front Street, Florence, NJ Relatives and friends may visit from 10 to 11 a.m.Funeral Services will begin at 11 AM Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cedar Lane, Florence, NJ Donations in memory of Janet may be sent to the Dementia Society of America or the Florence United Methodist Church.Obituary
