<p>MAMOU &ndash; Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ann&rsquo;s Church on Monday, August 31, 2020 for Johnny Pommier, 93, who passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 in Eunice, Louisiana.</p> <p>Father Billy Massie will conduct funeral services.</p> <p>Entombment will take place in New St. Ann&rsquo;s Mausoleum.</p> <p>Johnny Pommier was born on November 2, 1926 in Mamou, LA to Flores Pommier and Omerice Fontenot Pommier. He was a lifelong resident of Mamou. Johnny proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a finish carpenter. When he wasn&rsquo;t outdoors working in his garden, fishing, or hunting, he was indoors, playing cards with friends and family. He was a very loving, caring man.</p> <p>He will be greatly missed by his wife of 71 years, Betty V. Pommier, his daughters, Debra Blanchard and husband Richard, Rebecca Fuselier and husband Thomas, Meretta Melder and husband Jerry, and Nina Thibodeaux and husband James. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his nine grandchildren: Danielle Stafford, Nicole Chapel, Amy Rizzuto, Jacques Fuselier, Elizabeth Boudreaux, Brian Melder, Leah Howard, Kylie Joubert, Katie Joubert, and 20 great-grandchildren.</p> <p>He is preceded in death by his parents, Flores and Omerice Pommier, his grandson John R. Blanchard, Jr., his two sisters, Ruby Flores and Emily Duke, one brother, Clement Pommier, one half-sister, Joyce Powell, and three half-brothers, Yourick Guillory, Jr., Rodney Guillory, George Guillory, two step-sisters, Berna Kuntze and Bernice Siebert, and two step-brothers, James Guillory and Burley Guillory. They surely await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.</p> <p>At the request of the family, visitation will be observed at Ardoin&rsquo;s Funeral Home in Mamou on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM.&nbsp; A rosary will be recited by Deacon Chuck Ortego at 11:00 AM.</p> <p>Family and friends may leave condolences for the Pommier family at www.ardoinfuneralhomes.com.</p> <p>Ardoin&rsquo;s Funeral Home in Mamou is in charge of arrangements.</p>

Johnny Pommier was born on November 2, 1926 in Mamou, LA to Flores Pommier and Omerice Fontenot Pommier. He was a lifelong resident of Mamou.
