Charlene Marie Miller Obituary

Charlene Marie (Katana) Miller beloved wife, mother, and grandmother (Nonna) passed away on August 24 th in Gearhart Oregon at the age of 75.  Born October 6 th in Ellensburg, Washington. The daughter of Italian-Croatian immigrant coal miners, shegrew up in Roslyn, Washington before moving to Seattle at the age of 10. She graduated from Holy
Names Academy and then received her nursing diploma from Cabrini Hospital and began her nursing career. In 1965 she met the love of her life, Earl Miller, after a chance meeting through a mutual friend and were quickly married before embarking on six years of military life that brought them, and their growing family, all over the world, and the United States. In 1972, they returned to Earl’s hometown, Portland, Oregon where she devoted her time to raising their 2 children. In 1977, they moved to Redland where she worked at the elementary school and became an active member of St Philip Benizi Catholic parish. In recent years she has been enjoying more time with grandchildren, and extended family (her sister Carlene, and her nieces and great-nieces and nephew), weekend stays at the Oregon coast, traveling to Hawaii, Arizona, and Washington, and gardening.

Preceded in death by her husband Earl, Charlene is survived by her sister Carlene Buty, daughter Mary-Jo (Jim) Miller Lombardi, son Bill (Jessica) Miller, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Funeral will be September 1 st, 2020 – Rosary at 10:30 A.M., Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St Philip Benizi Catholic Parish, 18211 S Henrici Rd, Oregon City OR 97045
