Maurice A. Carter, 63, of Richmond, died April 19, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hampton and Gwendolyn Carter; sister, Ellen R. Carter Green and her husband, Adrian and grandmother, Cornelia O. Davenport. Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Yvonne Carter; daughter, Dorothy E. Shands; two sons, Michael and Mitchell Shands; three grandchildren; two sisters, Cheryl Carter and Judith Cater-Glover; brother, Rodney Johnson (Josephine); uncle; three nieces, four nephews; great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Asera Care Hospice. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 24 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. and where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 25 at 2 p.m. Rev. Willie Woodson, officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
