Allen Vance Yarbrough, 71, of Waco, passed away on August 25, 2020 at Ellery Arbor Memory Care in Colleyville, TX. He finally lost his courageous battle with dementia. Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 5, at OakCrest Funeral Home with ­­­­­Rev. Roy Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco. Facial coverings and social distancing is required. Allen was born February 13, 1949 in Waco, TX to Casey Vance Yarbrough and Nettie Hazel McCoy. He graduated from La Vega High School in 1967. After graduation, he attended Baylor University and in 1972 received a degree in Business Administration. He worked as a life insurance salesman at American General AIG for almost 40 years. Allen found his passion in dealing in antiques, collectibles and jewelry. He spent many years restoring antique furniture and selling it at Price’s Flea Market back in the 80’s and 90’s. He adored his furry little feline friends, but most of all, Allen adored his children and grandchildren. In his spare time outside of antiques he loved tailgating at sporting events. In his younger days country dancing was a favorite pastime. Allen also loved the occasional back scratch.
