Charles "Tip" Earl Tipton

Charles Earl Tipton, age 82, of Gold Hill, died Saturday, August 15, 2020 at his home. ”Tip” was born on Dec 17th 1937 to Betty Ripper and Paul Tipton. His mother passed away when he was 10. A short time later he gained step-mom Emma and 2 siblings- Donald and Donna. His family moved to a ranch in Vallejo California. He grew up working hard and going to school. He became a firefighter for the City of Santa Clara for over 30 years and settled in Milpitas,CA. He gained 2 sons from his first marriage, Charles and Patrick. After retirement he continued to be an avid boater with multiple adventures and active member with Spinnaker Yacht club including helping with parades, junior sailing program and fundraisers. He spent the last 15 years in Medford Oregon along the Rogue River enjoying hunting and fishing. He met Carole Riestenberg and they enjoyed a leisurely lifestyle together. His memberships included the Spinnaker Yacht club, the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge. Tip also volunteered with the Little leagues and was a volunteer firefighter. Tip was an avid boater, hunting and fishing, painting and loved to dance and was exceptionally good at all of them. Survivors include his children, Charles Tipton of Chillicothe MO, step-daughters Mary Beth Blackwell of Medford Oregon and Cheryl Dilday of Clearwater FL; siblings, Donald and Donna; grandchildren Polly, Tera Lyn, Alyssa, Barbara, Catherine, CJ, Danielle and Desaray Great Grandchildren Michael, Ashley, Hannah, Kaden, Alistair, Rebecca, Abagail, Sabrina, Christian, Kevin, Christian, Thatcher and Ryan. He is preceded in death by his spouse, son Patrick Tipton; brother Paul Tipton; and parents Betty Ripper, Emma and Paul Tipton Private ceremony will be held at a later date.
