Gabriella Gravina Bergenfield, New Jersey Obituary

Gabriella Gravina

Gabriella Gravina of New Milford left this life on August 25th, 2020 at the age of 85. Formerly of Teaneck, she lived in Barnard, Vermont and Hurley, New York as well. She was married for over fifty years to her husband Chuck and was the mother of five sons: Richard, Tom, Peter, Charlie and Andrew. She was a loving grandmother three times over (Brie, Charlie Jr and Joey). Both her husband Chuck and eldest son Rich had pre-deceased her. Active for many years in both the church of Saint Anastasia in Teaneck (she was a Hospice volunteer and deeply involved in companionship casework for the elderly) as well as the Old North Reformed Church in Dumont, her faith was the cornerstone of her long life. Bible study and scripture were decades-long interests of hers and informed everything she did for others. Her greatest passion, of course, was gardening, which she pursued with un-ending enthusiasm up until several weeks before her passing. She was a gardening scholar, giving tours of her gardens and providing expert advice to the many who wished to learn from her fifty years of experience planning and planting the classic northeast American garden. Gabriella was deeply loved by many friends, neighbors and fellow parishioners and was the center of her family’s universe. Now resting in Heaven, where she expected to be reunited with her mother, Lee Capuzzi, her sister Jane, her husband Chuck, her son Rich and countless friends that we believe were awaiting her arrival. She will be remembered always as selfless, generous, sweet, kind, loving and as a woman of absolutely unswerving faith in Jesus.
