James Wheeler Daniels, 90, passed away August 25, 2020 at Greene Rural Hospital. He was a long time resident of Leakesville. Mr. Daniels had a passion for golfing, driving race cars, and collecting baseball cards. Married to the love of his life, Doris, for 72 years, he loved his family and greatly enjoyed spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Darrel Daniels; son, Steve Daniels; daughter, Rhonda Daniels; his parents, Charlie and Tommie Daniel; step-mother, Kathleen Daniel; and sisters, Hazel “Pat” Mitchell and Sue Weatherly.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife, Doris Daniels; sons, James Larry Daniels, Kenny Daniels, and Joe Lecates; brother, Charles Daniels of Foley, AL; sisters, Marie Whitehead (Herbert) of Peoria, AZ, and Doris Smith (Phillip) of Fellsmere, FL; grandchildren, Vickie Byrd, Jay Daniels, Robin Daniels, Derek Daniels, Christy Turner, Rachel Gibson, Jennifer Sanders, and Zachary Daniels; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 11 am Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home with a Graveside Service at 12 pm in Mt. Pisgah UPC Cemetery with Rev. Russell Brown officiating.
