Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, August 28, 2020 at Pinon Baptist Church for Samantha Olivia Lewis of Pinon, New Mexico.

Mrs. Lewis, 45, died August 22, 2020 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center is Las Cruces, N.M.

David Brunson will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Pinon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dillon McCourt, Wyatt Fyock, Givin Prather, Ryan Williams, John Hibbard, and son Cotton Lewis.

Samantha was born August 9, 1975 in Gastonia N.C., the daughter of William Oakley and Connie (Bridges) Oakley.

On Janurary 12, 1995 she was married to Trey Lewis in Alamogordo, NM.

Samantha was proceeded in death by her father and mother Bill Oakley and Connie Oakley and grandmother Mable Oakley, who raised her. Survivors: Two brothers, John Hallman and Jody Hallman and his wife Sherry, sister, Mary Hamill and husband Jason Hamill with numerous nieces and nephews and cousins Steve (Cotton) Oakley and Melissa Oakley whom she called Mom. With Married family: Husband Trey Lewis, Son Cotton Lewis, father and mother-in-laws Gaston and Carolyn Lewis. Sister-in-laws, Melissa Stewart and her husband Boyd, Sarah McNeily and her husband Jay, Terry Dehoyos and her husband David with numerous nieces and nephews.

Loving mother and wife, always known for her smile, Samantha always knew how to make people's day brighter and happier. She loved her cows and flowers; her garden was as green as the hay she fed her cattle. She would always have a name for every calf born on the ranch and would mourn the day they had to leave. She had a heart as big as the sun and even brighter. She enjoyed people's company, so she enjoyed being in the retail business. Sam owned her own jewelry store in Cloudcroft, NM. She always took pride in her work and loved every minute of it. Sam will be missed by everyone, those who knew her and those who loved her the most. May her star forever shine.
