Edith Sara KLASSEN

<p>It is with heavy hearts we suddenly say goodbye to Edith Sara Klassen.&nbsp; Edith was born on the family farm near Herschel on May 1, 1928 to Abram and Helena Klassen.&nbsp; She became a teacher and taught in various places.&nbsp; While teaching in Luseland, she met Lorne.&nbsp; They were married in 1951 while living in Borden.&nbsp; In 1953 they moved to Rabbit Lake where they farmed until 1957 when they moved to Herschel to farm with her parents.&nbsp; Here they raised four children.&nbsp; Mom was always very involved with the farming.&nbsp; She also enjoyed gardening, needlework, golfing and was a great cook.&nbsp; She was also involved with the Mennonite Church and the community.&nbsp; In 1993, they moved to Vernon while spending winters in Arizona.&nbsp; In 2011, they moved to Caleb Village Retirement Community in Kindersley.</p> <p>On August 21, 2020 she went to her final home in Heaven where she joined her husband Lorne.&nbsp; Edith is survived by her four children, Elaine (David), Joan (Glenn), Bob (Linda), David and daughter-in-law Helen along with twelve grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.&nbsp; She is also survived by sisters-in-law Ruth Dyck, Phyllis Maloney, Gail Klassen, Lorna Klassen and brothers-in-law Bruce (Jackie) and Wayne (Sandra).</p> <p>She was predeceased by her husband in April 2020, parents, granddaughters Lainie and Lori, brothers Jack, Henry, Ernie and sister Helen and numerous brothers and sisters in law.</p> <p>A celebration of Edith&rsquo;s life will be held when family and friends are able to be together again. &nbsp;Donations in memory of Edith may be made to the Heart &amp; Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Unit 26,&nbsp;Saskatoon, SK, S7K 1V9.</p>
