Mark Thomas Banner Obituary
Mark Thomas Banner, 56, of Kinston passed away on Friday at the VA Hospital in Durham. He was the son of Mary Q. Banner and the late Ted Banner; and was the husband of Julie M. Banner. Mark served in the United States Navy as a Seabee. He was a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, and the Blueberry Hunting Club. He also enjoyed hunting, working on restoring old cars, spending time with family, and eating fried chicken.
A service of love will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:00 P.M. at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Truett officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Masks are not required to attend the service or visitation, but are highly suggested.
In addition to his wife, Mark is survived by his mother, Mary Q. Banner of Grifton; children, James Michael Banner of Portland, OR, Garrett Matthew Banner and wife, Mandi of Jacksonville, NC, Jodee Marie Bastani and husband, Dannesh of Anchorage, AK, Kathryn MyKell of Anchorage, AK, and Andrew Crawford of Farmington, MN; a brother, Jim Lee Banner and wife, Xiaojuan of Wasilla, AK; grandchildren, Jaxon, Cullen, and Bowen; mother in law, Eunice Massengill; brother in law, Jason Massengill and wife, Carey; niece, Emma Massengill; many, many friends; and his fur babies, Buck, Jack, Gus Gus, and Scuffy.
