Anna Mae Regulus

<p>Anna Mae Regulus was born on August 2, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to George and LeAnna Banks, who preceded her in death. Anna had two brothers: Albert and Herbert, who also preceded her in death.</p> <p>Anna graduated from James R. Doolittle Elementary School and Dunbar Vocational Career Academy High School in Chicago, IL.</p> <p>Anna worked as a food server at Malcolm X College and at Nabisco before joining Sweetheart Cup Company where she worked until her retirement in 1989.</p> <p>Anna loved her family with all of her heart and was always eager to help and support us whenever possible. She set boundaries and rules and demonstrated how a mother&rsquo;s responsibility is to love her children unconditionally and to bring up each child with care and affection.</p> <p>Anna was very energetic. She was always ready to have fun by visiting family and friends. Her cheerful disposition always kept us smiling and laughing. She loved to read, and her love of reading rubbed off on all of her children. It was simple pleasures of life that made her happy: being with family, eating and peppermint candy or gum.</p> <p>In 1949 Anna married Leroy Sibley, who preceded her in death, and together they raised seven children: Abu, Loretta, Carolyn, Larry, Marie, Janet (who preceded her in death) and James. Their marriage sustained 27years.</p> <p>Anna accepted God into her life at an early age. She was very spiritual, true to God and she shared her love of God with everyone.</p> <p>Anna later married Deacon John Regulus in 1992. They were happily married until his death in 1998. Together they attended Union Baptist Church. They were very outgoing and shared a love of Christ, sitting around playing cards, eating, and often traveled together.</p> <p>After 94years of life, Anna accepted her wings and made her transition on Wednesday August 12th, 2020. She leaves behind to treasure her memories six children: Abu Baka Nurruddin, Loretta Sibley, Carolyn Lavone Peters (Daniel), Anna Marie Sibley, Larry ? Sibley and James Elroy Sibley, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.</p> <p>Our love and affection for Anna &ldquo;Mother? Regulus will remain in our hearts forever.</p>
