Bass Harbor Helen M. Anderson, 95, died August 21, 2020 at an Orono healthcare facility. She was born June 4, 1925 in Tremont a daughter of Joseph W. and Rose (McGovern) Kelley. Helen worked in her early years at the local cannery packing sardines. She spent over 20 years at Henry R. Hinckley Company in the fiberglass department. She enjoyed making quilts and gave many of them as gifts to friends and family. She is survived by 2 sons, Ernie Campbell Jr and his wife Linda, and David Campbell all of Bass Harbor; a daughter, Brenda Harkins and husband Norman of Seal Cove; a sister, Hilda and husband Norman “Red” Schauss of CT; 9 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her daughter Nancy (Galley) Littlefield; by a husband Clarence Galley during WWII, former husband Ernest Campbell Sr, and widowed by husband Harold “Bob” Anderson in 1997; 3 brothers, Walter, Shirley and John; a sister, Rosemarie Matthews. The family would like to thank the staff of Orono Commons for their wonderful care of their Mother. Graveside services will be held 10am, Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020 at Head of the Harbor Cemetery, Marsh Road, Bass Harbor with Pastor Robert Maddocks presiding, Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St. Mt.
