Jane L. Brewer

Jane L. Brewer, 83, formerly of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 19, 2020 in Carthage, Missouri. Jane was born July 19, 1937 in Bryan, Texas, the daughter of T.B. Whitlow and Louise (Sisson) Whitlow. Jane graduated from Hearne High School in Hearne, Texas, then attended Baylor University. She married Troy Loftis in 1961; he preceded her in death. Jane then married Curtis Brewer in 1976; he preceded her in death in 2005. Jane worked as a civilian with the United States Navy and the Department of Defense as a Staffing Specialist. She was a member of the Thalia Lynn Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia where she was the pianist for many years. Playing the piano was a source of great happiness for her. Music brought joy and peace to her heart. Jane was also a dedicated Baylor fan and enjoyed watching the Bears play sports. Jane is survived by her daughter, Jacqui Johnson and her husband Kevin, of Carthage, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jack Whitlow. Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Thalia Lynn Baptist Church, 4392 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, Virginia, 23462.
