Mr. Phillip James Hood, Sr., 57, of 2700 College Drive, Apt. 907, Phenix City, AL passed Friday, June 10, 2016 at Midtown Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. EST, Friday, June 17, 2016 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Elder William Cooper, officiating and Elder Milton Williams, eulogist. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. Visitation is Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 1 - 8 p.m. EST with a family hour from 5 - 7 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Hood was born November 19, 1958 in Poplar Bluff, MO to Delores Matlock Hood and the late Samuel Hood. He was a Chef at Stewart Community Center and served in the U.S. Marines. Survivors other than his mother include his wife, Latasha (Beu) Hood; four children, Israel Hood, Stephen Hood, Monique (Patrick) Morris, Phillip Hood, Jr.; seven siblings, Dianne Young, Vickie (John) Young, William (Tracy) Young, Reginald Young, Samuel (Laura) Hood, Jr., Peggy (Kenny) Valick, Darrell Nelson; one grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
