Mary Ann Matte

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard for Mary C. Matte, 69, who passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 11:14 A.M. at her home in Branch surrounded by her family. Fr. Wayne Duet, Pastor of St. Edwards Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the St. Edwards Catholic Church Cemetery in Richard. The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 4:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. Visitation will resume on Monday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services. Survivors include her husband of fifty four years, Jimmy Matte of Richard; two grandsons, Seth James Matte and Trey Joseph Matte both of Richard; one great-granddaughter, Makenli Grace Matte of Richard; three sisters, Marjorie Thibodeaux of Eunice, Florence and Wayne Matte of Welsh, Cathy and husband, Jr. LeJeune of Welsh; one brother, Richard and wife, Jessica Castille of Eunice; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Matte was preceded in death by her son, Scotty Matte; her parents, John and Alzina B. Castille; one sister, Helen Castille; three brothers, Herbert, Calvin and Abraham Castille.
