A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Larry James “Pap” Richard, 75, who passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 1:45 P.M. at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas. Père Rozas, from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Old Cemetery in Church Point. The Family has requested that Mask be worn at all times during the visitation and funeral Mass. The family has requested public visitation to be held on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at 12:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. Survivors include his companion, Barbara Stanford and her family of Church Point; two sons, Troy and wife, Valerie Richard of Edmond, OK, Tod Richard of Sunset; one sister, Jean Benoit of Arnaudville; three brothers, Harold and wife, Renella Richard of Duson, Michael and Helen Richard of Church Point, Randy Richard of Church Point; one daughter-in-law, Marti Simon of Carencro; eight grandchildren, Jake, Hailey, Nicole, Nicholas, Haven, Fallon, Phoebe, and Piper; two great-grandchildren, Kyson and Azelynn; his furry friend, C.J. Mr. Richard is preceded in death by one son, Christopher Ted Richard; his parents, John Wilbert and Frances D. Richard; one brother, Kenneth Lee Richard; one infant sister, Janell Ann Richard; one brother-in-law, Raymond Benoit.
