Joseph Henry Tiefenbach

Dad was born April 7, 1934 in the Town of McLean, Saskatchewan. He was the ninth child of ten and the last surviving member. In 1952 dad drove cat for the Department of Highways. In 1953 he was promoted to head surveyor and worked with the Department of Highways until 1963. In 1955 he met and married Peggy Smith; and to this union they had three children: Pat, Denise and Stewart. Working for the highways the family moved to Hudson Bay, Porcupine Plain, Prince Albert, Melfort, Smeaton and Tisdale; and it was Tisdale that mom and dad decided to settle. Dad painted for Keith’s Deco for 2 years. Then in 1965 he went to work for M & K Esso where he became a journeyman mechanic and part time taxi driver. In 1979 he went to work for Beeland Co-op where he was hardware manager. In 1999 he retired after 20 years of service. After retirement mom and dad spent their summers at the lake with their kids, grandkids and many, many friends. Dad also volunteered as a board member at Kipabiskau. Their winters were spent at the hockey rink as dad ran the time clock for the Trojans, Ramblers and some minor hockey. He also got involved with the Ramblers as a manger and bus driver. Mom and dad were involved with the Lutheran Church. Dad did the maintenance for the church and the manse. He also helped by fixing items for the ladies rummage sale. Joe is predeceased by his parents, nine siblings his wife Peggy on April 11, 2017 and granddaughter Janel Tiefenbach on November 13, 2008. Left to cherish Joe’s memory is his daughter Pat (Bernie Kaminski) and their family: Erica, Olivia and Ava Zurowski: Dan (Krista) Piper, Eve: Doug (Kandace) Kenzie, Kashton; daughter Denise (Scott Anderson) and their family Jeff (Mandy) Meila, Calli, Kolby: Leigh Anderson; son Stewart (Laurie) and their family Kaila (Steven Robinson) and Kamryn; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation as a token of remembrance
