Jane Brewster

Funeral services for Jane Brewster, of Ekalaka, will be 11:00 a.m, Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Ekalaka with Pastor Steve DeFord officiating. Burial will take place in Beaverlodge Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Jane passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Dahl Memorial Healthcare in Ekalaka. Jane was born to Ole and Mabel Moholt (Amundson) in Lindsey, MT on October 23, 1922. She left behind the cares of this world for the beauty of heaven on Sunday, August 16, 2020. Jane grew up in Glendive, MT and graduated from Dawson County High School. She then attended business school in Billings, MT. While living in Billings, she worked at Pierce Packing. She married Glenn Brewster on July 13, 1943. Glenn’s careers had them moving to various locations. They lived in Billings, MT, Miles City, MT where she worked at J.C. Penney’s, at a saw mill near Ekalaka Park, Camp Crook, SD, and finally setting in Ekalaka. Jane worked in the Carter County Clerk and Recorder‘s office for 35 years. They welcomed their only daughter Karen to the world in July of 1944 in Billings, MT. She was a proud grandmother to Shaun and Pixie, and great-grandmother to Nathaniel. Later in life, her grandson introduced her to Jesus and she was ever grateful for the salvation and redemption Christ provided. She continued to grow in her faith daily. Jane loved coffee, slightly burnt toast, walking (she was a bundle of energy -always), doing crosswords, taking trips with her daughter and grandchildren, painting, taking a drive in the country, teen-burgers from the Wagon Wheel Café, and family gatherings. She made the best cranberry relish, glorified rice, and fruit salad; which she cheerfully toted to every family gathering as well as a number of church potlucks. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen, siblings: Clarence Moholt, Odis Moholt, & Emily Torgerson, and in-laws Glen S. and Harriet Brewster. She is survived by her daughter, Karen and son-in-law, John (Ekalaka, MT), grandson Shaun (Bozeman, MT) granddaughter, Pixie and great-grandson Nathaniel (Fargo, ND.) Nieces Vonnie Robson, Lorna Casey, Vicki Finnicum, Nadine Moholt, Madrienne Atkins, and nephews Brad Moholt, and Gary Torgerson. The family is grateful for the love and care provided by the staff at Dahl Memorial Nursing Home as well as the visits of friends and care of her extended church family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First Baptist Church of Ekalaka or Trails End Ranch Sports and Adventure Camp.
