James R. "Jim" Schindler, 70, of Frankford, Missouri passed away 1:10 PM Friday, August 14, 2020 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Il. Funeral service will be Saturday, August 22, 2020, at 10:00 am at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, Mo. Brother Duke Hendrix will officiate. Burial with full Military Rites by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post # 55 will be at Fairview Cemetery in Frankford, MO. Friends and Family are invited to Jim's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 PM, Friday, August 21, 2020 at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home. Jim was born December 7, 1949 in Frankford, MO to Carl Schindler and Estella Smallwood Schindler. Survivors include 4 children, Kristi Pierceall (John), Willie Schindler (Trina), Russell Schindler, Kathleen Herren (Mat), 9 grandchildren, Keri Schindler, Carl Schindler, Hannah Schindler, Zac Crane, James Herren, Emily Herren, Henry Herren, Caleb Pierceall, Laken Pierceall, 3 great grandchildren, Hauns Nunenacher, Solomon Pierceall and Thrain Pierceall. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Louis Schindler and Joseph Schindler. Jim was a general mechanic at Bleigh Ready Mix for over 20 years. He also previously worked for Diemakers for 14 years in the maintenance department. Away from work Jim loved the outdoors. Jim enjoyed hunting for white-tailed deer and fishing. His favorite spot was the Salt River and Ted Shank in Ashburn, Mo. Jim was an excellent woodwork. He built cabinets, doghouse, jewelry box and quilt racks. James enjoy attending auction in the surrounding area. Jim was know for his family secret recipes, Bread Pudding with Custard and Grandma Schindler sugar cookies. Jim was a Christian by faith. Memorial contributions may be to the St Jude Children Hospital or the COPD Foundation. Pallbearers will be Carl Schindler, Caleb Pierceall, Laken Pierceall, John Pierceall, Mat Herren and Keri Schindler. Honorary Pallbearers are Hannah Schindler, James Herren, Emily Herren and Henry Herren.
