Doris Thorstenson

June 9, 1930 – August 12th, 2020.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother. Doris was born in Pincher Creek and raised with her three sisters, Helen, Jean and Betty. She married Jim (Edgar James Thorstenson) on August 25,1951 and they were together for 62 years prior to his death in 2014. She lived in Pincher Creek until 1967 when the family settled in Claresholm.

Doris loved curling, golfing and playing bridge. She excelled at festive Christmas celebrations for her granddaughters (and adult children too).

Doris is survived by her daughter Penny Gill, son Barry Thorstenson, son-in-law David Gill and her granddaughters Kimberly (Adam) Parker, Kristen (Daniel) Butler and Baylee (Michael) Leavitt.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Volunteer Program at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Center.
