He enjoyed camping, especially with the Penn Hills Sneakaways, Indian Princesses and Indian Guides, and most things outdoors. He excelled at videography, starting his own company in the early 1980s. He was very proud of the home he built for his family, doing almost everything himself, and making sure his children learned those skills too. His favorite times were spent playing volleyball, tetherball and croquet with his children and grandchildren on the courts he made for them. He loved his West Virginia roots, and often visited the state. John raised champion hunting beagles as a teen, and his love of dogs stayed strong throughout his life. He was a member of Trinity Towers United Methodist Church and a former Trustee at Homestead Park United Methodist Church. There will be no visitation. Graveside Service for immediate family, Thursday August 20th at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Justin Judy, Trafford Trinity United Methodist Church.
