Richard L. Paulson, 89, of Fargo, ND, passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020 at Bethany on University in Fargo.

Richard was born on April 10, 1931 in Casselton, ND to Alfred and Martha (Beseman) Paulson. He grew up in Casselton and graduated from Casselton High School. He served in the Marines from February 29, 1952 to February 28, 1954. On September 8, 1956, he married JoAnn Sandvig in Casselton. Richard worked in the Fargo area and retired from the Fargo-Moorhead YMCA in 1991.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Martha; wife, JoAnn; sisters, Alice and Audrey; brothers, Lawrence, Vernon, Elmer, Robert, Donald and Douglas.

He is survived by his sister, Carol (Mike) Smylie of Pelican Rapids, MN.

Graveside Service: Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020 at 10 AM at the Casselton Cemetery with military honors.  (Masks are preferred to be worn)
