DAYLENE RAE MARTIN Obituary

A graveside service for Daylene Rae Martin, 80, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Hartville Cemetery near Hartville with Reverend Rex Martin and Reverend Bill Walker officiating. 

Daylene Martin passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland, Wyoming.

Daylene was born in Sunrise, Wyoming on Thursday, December 28, 1939 the daughter of John and Ada (Morgan) Sudbury.

Daylene attended school in Sunrise.  On February 15, 1956 she married Sherman Martin in Custer, South Dakota.  They spent most of their married life in the Hartville/Guernsey area.  They raised four children who were the love of their lives, Rex, Dan, Joni Kay, and Leann.  Between the four of them, they gave Daylene and Sherman eight grandchildren. 

She loved to sew for all of her family including her dad and Sherman’s dad.  She was very talented at spinning wool and loved doing it.  She was an amazing cook and baker.  She loved to cook for her family and have them all over for big family dinners.  She was famous for her fresh bread and cinnamon rolls.  When she wanted to relax, she would go outside and hunt for arrow heads.

Daylene is survived by her children, Rex (Rhonda) Martin, Dan Martin, Joni Kay (Wayne) Perkins, and Leann (Rob) Starr; grandchildren, Craig (Crystal) Martin, Kayla (Eric) Bohlander, Barbie (Zane) Townend, Katie (Cody) Conner, Houston (Julie) Martin, Colt Perkins, Danielle Starr, and Brittney Perkins; and eleven great grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sherman Martin on January 16, 2019; sister, Twyla Garcia; and daughter-in-law, Janet Martin on February 15, 2003.

Serving as pallbearers will be Craig Martin, Colt Perkins, Cody Conner, Eric Bohlander, Matt Martin, and Pete Howes.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Zane Townsend and Houston Martin.

A memorial to the Church of Our Savior, PO Box 64, Hartville, Wyoming 82215 would be appreciated by the family.
