Victoria Ann Hitt, 79, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, MS, where she was receiving hospice services. She was born May 27, 1941 in New Orleans, LA. She was the second child of John Zaffuto and Elvira Higgins Zaffuto. She married Robert in 1958, and they had five children, Robert, Jr., John, Rebecca, Mena, and Henry. She was the bookkeeper for Rubenstein’s clothing store in New Orleans until the birth of the boys when she became a stay at home mom. She and Robert returned to his home of Calhoun County in 1965 where he was employed at McQuay Manufacturing in Grenada, MS. She was a very talented seamstress and loved to make garments for her family, especially dresses for her daughter. She had no greater love than her family especially the grandchildren. They are of Pentecostal Faith and she dearly loved her Church Family and the Lord Jesus Christ. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends, but her memory will be cherished forever in their hearts. Pryor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Hitt family. A graveside service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, August 15, 2020, at 11:00am at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Rev. Charley Hamblin will be officiating. Pallbearers will be J.J. Hitt, Tyler Tipton, Brian Bennett, Jonathan Nielson, Harvey Barnett, and Jacob Easley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Brand and Charles Diamond. She leaves behind her husband, Robert Hitt of Calhoun City; three sons, Bob Hitt of Grenada, John Hitt and wife Stephanie of Calhoun City, and Henry Hitt of Troy, AL; daughter, Mena Tipton of Calhoun City; sister, Alice Nielson and husband Cleve of Huntsville, AL; brother, Johnny Zaffuto and wife Beverly of Bay Saint Louis, MS; grandchildren, J.J. Hitt and wife Jessica, Tori Bennett and husband Brian, Tyler Tipton, and John Robert Williams; and one great grandson, John Wesley Hitt. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Rebecca Hitt. Expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at pryorfuneralhome.com.
